Widow in the Wild began as a social media project exploring the realities of young widowhood, grief, identity, and rebuilding life after loss. What started as a place to share honest observations gradually evolved into a community of people searching for language to describe life after profound loss.
The Grief Gap
Education & Advocacy
The Grief Gap is an educational project focused on the space between what grief actually is and what people often expect it to be. Through writing and advocacy, it challenges common misconceptions while encouraging more compassionate conversations around loss and support.
From Posts to Pages
What began as short social media posts gradually became something more.
As Widow in the Wild grew, so did the conversations surrounding it. People shared their own experiences, asked questions, and reflected on the challenges of navigating grief, identity, and rebuilding after loss. Again and again, I found myself returning to the same themes and observations.
Over time, I realized there was a larger story taking shape.
The posts became field notes.
The conversations became research.
The observations became chapters.
What started as a writing project eventually sparked the idea for a book.

Widow in the Wild
A Field Guide to Surviving Young Widowhood
Inspired by the conversations and community that emerged through Widow in the Wild, I am currently writing a book that blends memoir, education, humor, and field-guide style observations to explore the experience of becoming a young widow.
Part personal narrative and part practical guide, the project examines grief, identity, relationships, social expectations, and the realities of rebuilding a life after profound loss. Drawing from both lived experience and professional insight, the book seeks to create an honest and accessible resource for widowed individuals, their support systems, and anyone interested in understanding grief more deeply.
At its core, the project reflects a simple belief: people deserve honest conversations about difficult topics, and understanding often begins when someone is willing to say, "me too."
